    Description

For the better part of 50 years the US Military Rod & Gun Clubs were a part of the Association of American Rod & Gun Clubs, Europe which was under the military Civil Affairs Division.  In the Association's prime, the 1960s, there were nearly 115 clubs in at least 15 countries throughout Europe, Africa, Turkey, and Iran.
In addition to maintaining the proficiency of American military hunters, the Rod & Gun Clubs provided a valuable liaison function with local communities and provided assistance in getting licenses by offering classes,
exams, shooting tests, and obtaining hunting permits. I
n Germany, hunting rights belong to the landowner
so each owner has their own stipulations on usage.
Students were taught the German traditions and theories on conservation and hunting, and had to pass a written and verbal exam.  In addition to qualifying in three different shooting disciplines (rifle, pistol and shotgun) students also visited local hunting areas, and learned practical applications. Successful completion allowed participants to purchase weapons for hunting and engaging in actual local hunting.
Two pins are being offered.  First buyer has choice.  Appropriate pictures will be removed when either pin is sold.
