    This is an original press photo. Ukkranian front In a seemingly endless line German & Hungarian prisoners taken by he Russians, march under guard across the river Tissa. It has been estimated that from Oct 6 to Nov 6 1942, 160 German and Hungarian soldiers have been taken captive during offensive operations along the 2nd Ukranian front. As the Red army continues its inroads into Hungary toward the Reich, Heinrich Himmler officiated at the swearing in of millions of draftees for the German Storm Armies, and read to the people a manifesto from Hitler, which contained for the main part morale propoganda. In it the dictator lauded Japan as Germany's greatest ally and wildly denounced the Allies, Jews and Bolsheviks. Photo measures 9 x 4.75 inches. Photo is dated 11-02-1944.
