Description
Drop dead gorgeous drop earrings from over a century ago, made of 14k gold that would have been called 'white' back then, achieved by using silver and palladium in the gold alloy, rather than just plating it with rhodium like they do now. This "champagne" tone is slightly warmer/yellower than sterling silver, and so pleasant to look at. These earrings also have some sterling (the omega clips on the back). The diamond carat weight is 1 ct. per earring (a .5 ct. main stone, and five .1 ct. stones, conservative estimate). As you can see in the photo I have tested them. The Tahitian peacock green/blue/violet pearls are 8-9 millimeters each, about as perfectly round as I have ever seen, and absolute knockouts.Dating: It took a lot of research and help, but I believe it's safe to date these close to the turn of the century, based on the marks. The 14k sideways infinity symbol on the post means they were made by Leach and Garner, which began in 1899, and the 925 sterling omega clips have the wagon wheel symbol of Bernard Weber, which operated until 1915. So there are the bookends.
I hope you enjoy wearing these as much as I have studying and photographing them. I offer no-nonsense returns if you are not absolutely tickled.
